Permeation
Polyurethane Grout
Polyurethane Grouting for Soil Stabilization
Permeation polyurethane grouting is a specialized low-pressure injection process used to strengthen granular soils, seal voids, and reduce permeability. Unlike foam lifting methods, permeation grout is designed to saturate sands, gravels, cracks, or cavities, creating a solidified mass that improves load-bearing capacity and prevents water migration.

What Is Permeation Polyurethane Grout?
Permeation grouting is a soil stabilization technique where a thin, resin-like polyurethane grout is injected under controlled pressure into granular soils or voided zones. Because the material is low-viscosity, it penetrates soil pores, cracks, and fissures without disturbing surrounding ground.
Once cured, the grout solidifies into a stable, impermeable mass that reinforces soil strength, prevents erosion, and blocks the movement of water. This method is ideal when excavation isn’t practical or when nearby structures require protection.
How Helicon’s Permeation Grout System Works
- Injection ports are installed at targeted depths around the treatment area
- Low-viscosity polyurethane grout is pumped into granular soils or voids at controlled pressures
- The grout permeates sands, gravels, fractures, and small cavities, filling gaps without soil displacement
- Material cures into a solidified mass, increasing soil strength and sealing against water movement
- Site remains clean and undisturbed, with little disruption to adjacent structures

Advantages of Permeation Grouting with Helicon
Permeation grouting is one of the most effective ways to stabilize granular soils and control groundwater without large-scale excavation. Helicon’s system delivers permanent results while minimizing disruption to your property.

Strengthens Weak Soils
Converts loose or unstable ground into a dense, load-bearing base capable of supporting structures.

Controls Groundwater Flow
Creates effective cut-off barriers to prevent water intrusion or migration through soils.

Minimal Surface Disturbance
Performed through small injection points, leaving the site clean and requiring no major excavation.

Fast & Cost-Effective
A proven stabilization method that delivers lasting results while saving time and money compared to excavation or replacement.

Common Permeation Grout Applications
Helicon’s permeation polyurethane grouting is used across Florida for both structural and environmental stabilization projects, including:

Structures
Underpinning foundations or stabilizing soils adjacent to buildings where excavation is not possible.

Seawalls
Filling voids behind seawalls, reducing washout, and sealing water pathways to extend seawall life.

Pool Decks
Preventing erosion and stabilizing loose soils around pools to protect decks and prevent cracking.

Manholes & Infrastructure
Sealing leaks, stabilizing soils around buried infrastructure, and preventing groundwater infiltration.
