What are Helical Piers?

Helical piers (also known as helical piles or screw anchors) are advanced foundation elements designed to secure structures built on unstable soil. Each pier consists of a steel shaft with helical plates welded near the tip, allowing it to be hydraulically “screwed” deep into the ground.

Once advanced to the proper depth and torque, the piers are attached to the foundation with heavy-duty steel brackets. This process creates a secure connection that transfers the weight of the structure onto stable soil or bedrock, providing immediate load-bearing capacity.

I had a screen porch blow off during Hurricane Milton. One of the rebuilding efforts was to ensure the foundation under the wall that had supported the screen porch's attachment was secure. Helicon came and pumped in an expanding grout under the wall in question. Great job was done with precision measurements, and the area was left clean and neat. Well Done!

Helicon stabilized the soil behind our seawall earlier this spring. After a very wet summer, there was some new subsidence in three places along the seawall. They promptly returned, honoring their warranty, and inject additional material to reinforce the few spots that needed attention. Excellent customer service!

We are a Water Managment Special District in the state of Florida and when we started looking into repairing our outflow Dam that is responsible for 16 lakes, we took multiple bids and ended up choosing Helicon. It was a great choice! They were able to walk us through the steps of how they would be able to properly seal and help strengthen this outflow Dam that is essential to our community. Using their specialty hydrophilic foam, they were able to inject into our Dam sealing cracks and empty spaces that had eroded over time as well as pushing out water that had seeped in. they were able to accomplish this large undertaking within a day and they were able to instill a confidence in the structure that had not been there for decades. Not only would I recommend them to other government entities, companies, or individuals we are looking to work with them again in the future on the possibility of some different types of projects.
